Job Description:

The Senior Clinical Analyst reviews, analyzes, and evaluates workflows for the Laboratory applications.  The role is responsible for assisting in the setup and deployment of systems as they relate to the Laboratory applications.  He/she will be an internal expert in terms of system capabilities, technology, and system setup. They will be the first line support for the Laboratory applications post go-live. They will also be responsible to assist and support the Clinical Laboratory and Pathology applications. They should be familiar with Sunquest LIS, Data Innovations, and Allscripts Sunrise Clinical Manager (or another Electronic Health Record system). Additional responsibilities may include assisting with documenting functional and technical requirements, mapping process flows, conducting system testing, creating system documentation and administering training.

Job Accountabilities

1. Laboratory Technical Skills

  • Builds and troubleshoots orders and communications between servers and clinical devices
  • Creates clear documentation on the data flow and physical connectivity
  • Creates run and troubleshoot basic Reports
  • Understands Key Related Systems in the Pathology and Laboratory space

2. Compliance & Configuration

  • Understands federal and corporate compliance
  • Identifies compliance failures
  • Understands configuration in Digital Pathology
  • Creates flowsheets, documents and reports

4. Project Management

  • Adheres to methodology
  • Performs job duties with a high degree of skill
  • Enforces Methodology ensuring quality and consistency of team deliverables
  • Works independently and plays a key role on the team
  • Assists in project planning, management, and integration activities
  • Promotes team effectiveness, morale, and productivity

5. Financial Management

  •   Offers solutions that result in lowering total cost of ownership
  •   Assists with cost/benefit analysis when investigating purchase and development  decisions

6. Teamwork and collaboration

  • Collaborates with the IT Team, CTCA community and IT leadership to provide support for projects and initiatives
  • Collaborates with internal and external customers on all IT initiatives

7. Process Management

  • Adheres to established processes and procedures
  • Performs time reporting using defined tool
  • Performs status reporting using defined tool
  • Suggests improvements to established standards and procedures

Education/Experience Level

  • Bachelors Degree in Science or another clinical field is required; a Masters Degree is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of work experience with a Laboratory application. (Sunquest and Allscripts Preferred)
  • 5+ years experience in software implementation and/or support is required.
  • 1+years of project management experience is preferred.
