Job Overview

The Sr. Business Partner, Talent role contributes to performance of CTCA by providing tactical and strategic consulting on talent and organization development strategies in support of the business objectives

In partnership with hiring leaders, senior leadership and Talent leadership, this position will provide support to ensure effective delivery of services to Corporate partners.  The position acts as the primary point of contact for leaders in their assigned area of responsibility. The individual will assess, evaluate and fully understand the human capital and talent requirements of the organization, as well as manage the assessment of issues, implementation of programs, and evaluation of outcomes.

Performs Talent related duties at the professional level while supporting more than one functional group. Carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: employee relations consultation; policy interpretation and application, performance and compensation management consultation, talent management consultation, organizational design; employee development initiatives and training.

Job Responsibilities

45%| Talent Management & Strategy

  • Understands key business issues and their connectivity to broader Talent initiatives and activities.  Acts as liaison between business leaders and collaborates with other Talent resources that can support needs or issue resolution. Partners with leadership to implement Talent strategy. Acts as "boots on the ground" to ensure alignment of talent initiatives with departmental objectives.
  • Assists leaders with developing job descriptions to ensure labor/position requests are in line with job architecture and compensation guidelines. 
  • Manage and process Workday transactions as it relates to promotions, transfers, and compensation changes. 
  • Effectively facilitate development of managers and Stakeholders through coaching on policy interpretation.
  • Leads and/or supports annual Talent cycle deliverables to include Performance Management process - goal setting, mid-year review, year-end review. Manage the training and deployment of Performance Management for assigned work groups.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with Talent peers to develop solutions, programs and practices.
  • Partners with Payroll, HRIS, Compensation and Benefits functions as needed to provide solutions for internal customers. 
  • Provides support and back-up to Talent Specialist with the CTCA Onboarding program and new hire orientation.

30%| Stakeholder and Employee Relations

  • Provides day to day support and coaching to site leaders on Employee Relations to include interpretation and application of CTCA policies and practices, government regulations, and accepted business practices.
  • Ensures training and orientation are provided to managers, supervisor and Stakeholders in appropriate talent related policies and procedures. 
  • Coaches leaders in performance improvement and disciplinary actions as necessary. 

10%| Leave Management

  • Oversees FMLA and Leave requests for local and remote Stakeholders.
  • Provides coaching and support to the Talent Specialist who will act as main point of contact for Leave requests.

15%| Talent Training & Development

  • Drive and coordinate the Training and Development initiatives for managers and stakeholders, including: Position Requisition Requests, Leadership Development System, New Leader Training, Annual Review process, and Merit process. 
  • Deliver presentations to executives and others, as required, on Talent strategies, programs, policies, and issues.
  • Serve as a consultant to other management stakeholders on specific Talent operation problems and concerns (ie: policy, FMLA, Benefits, Compensation).

Skills, Education and Additional Information

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Five (5) to Seven (&) years of HR experience in generalist, employee relations, training & facilitating experience required
  • PHR certification preferred
  • Healthcare industry experience a plus 
  • Excellent communication, organization and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to think critically.
  • Proven ability to effectively coach employees and management through complex and difficult issues
  • Ability to thrive in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to set high personal goals and work independently
  • Ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize tasks 
  • Ability to make recommendation to effectively resolve problems or issues
  • Demonstrated project management skills 
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft programs
  • Experience with Workday HRIS is a plus
