Management Development/Fellowship Program - College

The Management Fellowship is a two year leadership acceleration program based at Cancer Treatment Centers of America’s corporate headquarters in Boca Raton, FL. During the Fellowship, you will be trained in analytic problem-solving, mentored by senior executives, and given the opportunity to develop your leadership capabilities. You will work on teams in a variety of business functions such as hospital operations, clinical strategy, and business development, and will present your analyses and insights to senior executives to drive enterprise initiatives. Based on project need, you may also travel to CTCA hospitals in Chicago, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Phoenix and Tulsa. Ideal candidates are entrepreneurial self-starters that have a passion for CTCA’s mission and values. They are open to taking risks and solving complex problems, work well in a collaborative setting, and have proven leadership experience. They also possess exceptional communication and analytic skills. Background in healthcare is not required!

The breakdown of the Fellowship is as follows:

First year Fellows develop problem solving skills, build a professional network, and learn about the business of healthcare. Two to four month projects provide you with an in-depth understanding of specific business units as well as broad exposure across a variety of functions.

Second year Fellows lead project teams, guide first years in problem solving, and learn to turn in-depth analyses into high-level insights and presentations to executives. They develop management skills through coaching and providing feedback to first years and running the logistics of the Fellowship program (recruiting, development, orientation, and other functions).

Post Fellowship, you will work with senior executives to determine your next career steps, typically as an Enterprise Innovation Manager or in a role within a specific business unit. As an Enterprise Innovation Manager, you will be responsible for building and leading new enterprise capabilities while continuing to work with and mentor First and Second year Fellows. If you enter into a specific business unit, you will use your problem-solving background and leverage your network to accelerate your growth within that team. Regardless of your career path, you will join a community of Fellowship Alumni who provide mentorship, support, and guidance as you jump-start your career.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university with a strong academic record required (Grad students with similar qualifications also accepted). Graduation date of December 2017 or May 2018.
  • Combined 1+ year work experience through internships or jobs
  • Strong project management, organization, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Efficient multi-tasker able to juggle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Works well independently and with minimal direction at times
  • Versatile team player with affinity for collaborative environment
  • Open to 25% to 75% travel, depending upon project
  • An interest in healthcare
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
