Job Description:

The Healthcare Analyst is responsible for the development, production, and publishing report metrics and Key Performance Indicators supporting revenue integrity and financial performance. Major areas of focus include management of all report scorecards and dashboards supporting revenue integrity across the CTCA system.  The Healthcare Analyst will support the Revenue Cycle, Operations, and Finance teams to collaborate with operators across the organization to identify, develop, and implement performance improvement initiatives related to revenue integrity.

Job Responsibilities

  • 40%|   Support month end close financial reporting and the ability to review high level to ensure accuracy such as AR aging, expected vs actual comparisons, patient and insurance collection rates, and denials. Ensure that proper documentation is maintained regarding metric changes.
  • 40%|  Provide financial trend reports in areas of adjustment reasons, denial reasons, resubmitted billings, accounts receivable, late charges, denials, accounts receivable reports, revenue by disease, reimbursement by payor, CPT utilization, and ad hoc reports to expedite the revenue cycle. Track and trends audit findings; identifies root cause and communicates findings to appropriate departments.  Develop and maintain report templates and criteria
  • 10%| Work with customers to identify opportunities for improvement and solutions to business problems using automation. Proactively identifies potential issues during all phases of the system life cycle including planning, testing, implementation, and support.  Responsible for pulling and monitoring daily/weekly/monthly/quarterly reports; working with key stakeholders in other departments. Provides detailed and timely status reports and keeps Leadership informed of all items of concern.
  •  10%| Work with tools such as Microsoft Excel, Tableau, Qlik Sense or directly in SQL to automate reports. Working with the IS team on identifying missing or valuable fields in our reporting tools.  Developing Standard Work Instructions regarding tools listed above and processes.

Skills, Education and Additional Information

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Healthcare, Analytics, Finance, or a relevant field. 
  • Relevant graduate degree desirable.
  • Two or more years’ experience in analytics-related roles
  • Two or more years’ experience in a managed care/healthcare environment with exposure to revenue cycle management and finance preferred.
  • Familiarity with various types and sources of health care information, including financial and patient-level data files.
  • Familiarity of common revenue cycle key performance indicators
  • Coding knowledge preferred (HCPCS, CPT, ICD10, DRG)
  • Experience in auditing techniques and/or within system applications.
  • Analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to independently gather, compile and analyze data and prepare narrative and reports.
  • Produce spreadsheets, documents and presentations that are well-documented and easy to follow (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Project.
  • Experience in writing SQL required.
  • Experience with using Tableau, QlikView, or similar software required.
  • Intermediate level of knowledge of claims process systems and guidelines preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal presentation skills including the ability to translate information to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to follow-through on the execution of tasks and demonstrates an ability to stay the course despite obstacles and challenges.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and work well in team settings.
  • Ability to manage conflicting priorities and multiple projects concurrently.
  • Ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to achieve initiative and organizational goals.
