Job Description:

The Finance Director - Physician Group is responsible for providing financial support to the Office of Clinical Leadership (OCL), the regional Physician Groups across the enterprise and the Clinical Research Business.  The Finance Director - Physician Group reports to the Regional CFO and serves as a key business partner to the enterprise Chief Medical Offer, Chief of Clinical Operations, AVP - Physician Group and SVP of Strategy and Clinical Programs.  The role is also an important member of the enterprise finance team.

Responsibilities include: collaborating with clinical operations to improve financial performance, reimbursement, and costs along with physician group controllership duties.  The role requires strong analytical and organizational skills.   Additionally, the Finance Director - Physician Group must possess the ability to influence without authority in a matrixed organization and complete deliverables in a timely and accurate manner.

Key tasks include, but are not limited to:

  • the development of the monthly forecast, annual budget, month end financial analysis, capital expenditure justifications and short and long term planning strategies;

  • analyzing operations of the physician groups regarding costs, pricing, profitability;

  • monitoring reimbursement with payers;

  • reporting and developing net revenue targets;

  • managing Physician Group and Clinical Research financial reporting in conjunction with enterprise accounting;

  • collaborating with revenue cycle in conjunction with centralized coding/billing and the patient accounts function;

  • supporting practice management services in conjunction with the enterprise OCL;

  • serving as the financial liaison between the OCL, the local Physician Group and Clinical Research Business

In this role, you will support improving financial performance of the business through the development of short and long term planning strategies; analyze operations of the physician groups regarding costs, pricing, profitability; monitor reimbursement with payers; report and develop net revenue targets; manage Physician Group financial reporting in conjunction with enterprise accounting; support practice management services in conjunction with the enterprise OCL; and, serve as the financial liaison between the OCL and the local Physician Group.

You will provide analytical support for the financial oversight of monthly reimbursement trends; contract negotiation, activation, and operationalizing new and existing contracts; agings management; denials mitigation and coordinating with revenue cycle in conjunction with centralized coding/billing and the patient accounts function.      

                                                                                             

Additionally, manage the OCL, Physician Group and Clinical Research business controllership duties through the development of the monthly forecast, annual budget and month end financial analyses.  Assist in managing financial reporting in conjunction with enterprise accounting.  As needed, support local compliance and regulatory affairs.

Requirements:?

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance; CPA or MBA with Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) ? certification desired

  • 7+ years of physician practice, hospital accounting, finance, and/or operational experience

  • Must have physician group experience

  • 3+ years of financial leadership experience; experience leading and managing a team

  • Ability to build strong working relationships with executives to drive strategy and ensure tactical completeness

  • Strong analytical and organizational skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to problem solve and drive results

  • Must possess the ability to influence without authority in a matrixed organization and complete deliverables in a timely and accurate manner
