Job Description:

This entry level Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for administering, supporting and assisting in the implementation of new and existing systems, data conversions, stored procedure review, deployment and monitoring of the systems.  This includes maintaining legacy system databases and conducting migrations to new systems.  In addition, this position is expected to identify and promote best practices for data modeling, data conversions, and data interfaces.  This includes providing oversight for all activities related to data cleansing, data quality, and data architecture, utilizing standard methodologies and processes.  This position participates in on-call rotation that requires after-hours support and may also adjust work hours to perform maintenance tasks at times least impactful to customers.

  • Provide 24/7 support of production systems; Administer databases, maintenance plan, system monitoring, performance monitoring, debug, security in accordance to industry standards

  • Develops and maintains documentation for various processes they are responsible for: logical processes, hardware and operating system environments, dependencies on other systems, internal and external checks/ controls, and security

  • Provides technical support for existing databases and legacy systems through complete life cycle; Maintain and respond to trouble tickets

  • Cross train with the team on additional technologies in the environment, follow prescribed policies of change control, approvals, deployments, communication.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Information or equivalent experience in the appropriate fields is required.
  • 1+ years of IT experience, primarily within the areas of data management, database management/ conversions, and/or database development, architecture, administration required. 
  • Knowledge in Microsoft SQL Server technologies. This includes all versions from 2000, 2005, 2008, 2008R2, 2012, 2014, 2016, 2017, current is required
  • IT experience within a multi-facility healthcare organization is preferred
  • Knowledge in SSIS, SSRS, SSAS is a plus.
  • Knowledge of SAN configuration, data loading, database security, performance monitoring and tuning, capacity planning and backup and recovery a plus
  • Understanding of traditional Data Warehousing principles and architecture a plus
  • Oracle, Sybase, Intersystems CACHE knowledge a plus
  • Azure experience a plus
  • Experience working in an ITIL model a plus
  • Outstanding SQL scripting and ETL skills a plus
  • Experience with scripting languages a plus
  • Familiarity with applicable data privacy laws and practices a plus
  • Strong coordination, organization, teaming and communication abilities.
  • Strong analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail
  • Must possess a strong business perspective in order to convey technology concepts and solutions that will satisfy the business requirements.
