Job Description:

Job Overview

Provides benefits reporting and administration for CTCA at a corporate level.    Provides benefits reports and makes recommendations for plan design.  Compiles and interprets data related to benefits activity.    Administers and answers questions regarding health and welfare plans, COBRA, FMLA, leave of absences, etc.  Assists with development and maintenance of benefits communications.  Coordinates the annual enrollment process.  Acts as liaison with vendors for benefits plan issues.  Assists with the planning, development and implementation of new and revised benefits programs across CTCA. 

Job Accountabilities

  • Counsels employees regarding all health and welfare plans including health, dental, life flexible spending, AD&D, STD and LTD.  Coordinates the administration of corporate benefit programs including medical, dental, life, 401k, etc.  Maintains benefits records and plan documents. Consults with and advises corporate employees on eligibility, provisions, and other matters related to benefits.
  • Serves as liaison for all benefit vendors and assists employees in resolving issues/problems with benefit providers.  Acts as internal specialist on benefits plans.  Acts as liaison between employees, hospital HR departments and benefits vendors on significant issues.  Reports to HR management with benefits issues of concern.   Provides communications for employee orientations and presentations.  Monitors and updates communications materials as required.
  • Coordinates annual re-enrollment process.  Acts as hospital liaison to ensure that all facilities received re-enrollment materials and have all tools necessary to provide employee communications.  Responsible for tracking spend against budget allotment for re-enrollment. Assists with the preparation of employee benefits booklets and other employee benefit communications.  Ensures return information is accurately recorded and entered for the effective dates.
  • Recommends and assists on the development of benefits plans and policies.  Maintains an ongoing effort to determine and maintain equity with current benefit trends, programs and legislative requirements.  Compiles and interprets data related to benefits activity.  Makes recommendations for plan changes and improvements based on analysis.
  • Ensures compliance with all government laws and regulations governing benefits administration, including form 5500, SPD’s and plan documents, and preliminary and final discrimination testing for all required plans.
  • Maintains monthly billing.  Works with the Coord - HRIS to maintain system integrity and requested vendor feeds, and provide requested data for the annual renewals and benefit consensus reviews

Education/Experience Level

  • Preferred BS/BA in Business, Human Resources or a related field.  Must have a minimum of 5 years of benefits experience in a corporate Human Resources function

Knowledge and Skills

  • Must have a strong background in benefits administration
  • Must have strong written and verbal communications skills and be able to work well with employees and Talent colleagues
  • Must have ability to run HRIS reports
  • ADP experience preferred
  • PowerPoint and Excel experience preferred
