Position Overview

Senior Specialist, Search Engine Marketing(SSSEM) :

The purpose of this position is to manage effective and impactful paid search media programs for CTCA, including agency and budget management, and execution and measurement at both the national and regional (hospital) levels, to support the company’s achievement of its annual patient acquisition goals. Search Engine Marketing is a core element of patient acquisition, and requires dedicated staff to manage and optimize this effort. Reporting to the VP, Integrated Media, the SSSEM will have clear ownership of paid search for CTCA, with a strong understanding of metrics for success. The SSSEM:

  • Directs CTCA’s comprehensive search engine marketing (SEM) program to maximize exposure of the company and its website against targeted audiences (both domestic and international).
  • Manages SEM budget reporting and invoice management
  • Oversee CTCA’s SEM agency to ensure proper and timely execution of approved plans. Acts as day to day contact for agency team.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for growth and optimization through data analysis.
  • Owner of ‘patient search experience’ and as such, collaborates with Creative Services, Web and IS to ensure a positive search experience.
  • Collaborate with Creative Services team to help develop search copy and connect creative campaigns to search efforts
  • Work with creative and web development team on ad copy development and Landing Page implementation and testing
  • Serve as the paid search expert through monitoring industry trends and educating our team on new opportunities.
  • Forge relationship with Search Engines to optimize SEM performance, ensure alpha and beta test opportunities, and stay educated on new industry developments
  • Provides strategic leadership for internal clients (focusing here on regional hospitals) by collaborating to develop and execute local or regional SEM strategies
  • Support Analytics team with ad hoc reporting.
  • Stays current with industry best practice, strives to keep CTCA at the vanguard of SEM innovation.
  • Protects and develops the CTCA brand

Key Position Qualifications

  • Minimum of a BS/BA in Marketing, Communications, or related field; graduate degree preferred but not required
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years digital experience with a focus on paid search management
  • Must have experience in digital media management with a focus on paid search
  • 2 years minimum experience in online marketing with a focus on SEM campaign management, or equivalent
  • SEM bid management platform experience (Kenshoo preferred)
  • Must have experience managing large, national media budgets
  • Google Adwords certified
  • Bing Ads and Yahoo Gemini experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must be facile with numbers and have demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office Excel
  • Tableau and PowerPoint experience a plus
  • Knowledge of a site analytics tool a plus
  • Well-organized, high attention to detail, deadline-oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with an ability to synthesize technical detail and communicate across the organization
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with demonstrated attention to detail. Must have successful track record of managing detail-oriented work under tight deadlines and within budget.
  • Proven ability to work in fast-paced and highly collaborative team environment.
